The first thing we are going to do in order to know the meaning of the term road is to discover its etymological origin. In this case, we can say that it is a word that derives from Latin, specifically it is the result of the sum of two components:
-The term "vialis", which can be translated as "the relative to the road".
-The suffix "-dad", which is used to indicate "quality".
The notion of road It is usually used to name the group of services that are linked to the development, maintenance and organization of public roads . The term is also used with reference to the property of vial (linked to one way).

In Argentina , the National Road Directorate (which is also known as National Roads ) is the state agency that aims to build, preserve and repair roads. This entity has machinery and personnel to carry out different types of tasks on the routes (roads) of the country .
In the Argentine territory there are also the Provincial Road Directorates which, as the name implies, are linked to the administration provincial. In this sense, we can mention the Provincial Directorate of Roads of Neuquén , the Provincial Directorate of Roads of Mendoza and others.
In Chile, on the other hand, there is also what has been called the Road Directorate, which is an agency under the Ministry of Public Works. Specifically, this institution is responsible for offering a long list of services and procedures, such as the following:

-Authorizations to allow access to public roads.
-Create the road manual, which is then made available to any citizen who wishes to consult it.

-The information corresponding to what is interactive transit.
-The creation and development of the National Viability Laboratory.
This mentioned laboratory, which has been operating in the Chilean country for seventy-five years, has as a clear mission to proceed to have under control what is the quality of the whole set of road works that are carried out. Human and material resources are the main elements that allow this institution to manage that all the infrastructures undertaken are optimal and favor and improve the quality of life of citizens.
The idea of road, in Mexico , is used as a synonym for Street (the roads that allow the movement of vehicles). Therefore, when talking about the road network or the road system, reference is made to all the streets and avenues that are used for the circulation of cars, motorcycles, etc .: "The most important roads in the city are in poor condition", "The snow forced to close several roads in the region".
